“Ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls”.
The ancient paths are well trodden by countless generations.
There are lessons on that path that have turned boys into men and cowboys into warriors.
These paths need to be shown to the younger men. And young men need to absorb these lessons into their souls.
However, there are not many older men showing younger men these ways.
Too few fathers.
Too few older brothers.
Too few mentors.
Too few men who have walked the ancient paths.
Too few men willing to show these paths.
Too few boys asking to be shown.
Men: there is power in paths and freedom in ancient ways.
Jeremiah writes about walking in the ancient paths. I see this as a passing on of information from one man to another and a guiding word that says “I have walked these ancient paths. Learn from my mistakes, my thoughts and my prayers”.
Many men ‘learn the hard way’. But that does not always have to be the case.
There in power in “Let me learn from”.
There is power in “Let me show you”.
There is power in the ancient paths.
